George Platt Lynes (1907-1955) was an American fashion and commercial photographer who worked in the 1930s and 1940s. He is recognized today as a master of 20th century photography, influencing artists such as Robert Mapplethorpe and Herb Ritts. He received commissions from Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country, and Vogue (including a cover with perhaps the first supermodel, Lisa Fonssagrives.)
